Giving Back

Aside from his professional activities, Christian Comair is a dedicated philanthropist who recognises his responsibility to give back to society and protect the environment. In pursuit of the latter, he proudly supports a reforestation initiative, an animal sanctuary, and a water irrigation scheme in the Lebanese town of Tannourine that mitigates low rain levels in the region, providing vital water used by agriculture through the creation of artificial water ponds.

Sofregaz

When he acquired Sofregaz, a French company that was bankrupt at the time, his visionary leadership helped transform the organisation. Under his stewardship, Sofregaz returned to profitability, conserving its workforce. Today, Sofregaz is a major player in the oil and gas industry and operates to the highest environmental standards.

Philanthropy

Christian Comair fundraised for and managed a Lebanese scheme that provides free buses for citizens of Tannourine. He also provided financing for COVID-19 vaccinations, ensuring their distribution to the Lebanese Army and across the towns of Ehmej, Akoura and Tannourine. In 2006, Mr. Comair oversaw the reconstruction of four South Lebanese villages following their destruction in the Israeli–Lebanese conflict. The initiative paved the way for the creation of 6,000 homes, as well as fire stations, schools and religious buildings, including churches, mosques and Khalwa.
